Solar Farms, and Solar Power Plants
Things you will need to have for a Solar Farm
One of the main considerations to installing a solar farm and receiving a competitive solar quote will be determined by several factors. We have tried to assist with some points to consider below.
The single biggest issue next to your connection agreement is understanding your demand. When designing a solar farm you first need to understand how solar power works and what can be expected on a daily, monthly, and annual production expectation. Daily you need to consider your peak potential energy production from the solar farm, this will vary depending on your product selection. To better understand the different technologies we suggest you visit www.reti.com.au and look at the varying products and their performance schedules. This will enable you to build a model based on seasonal influences.
The design of the system will be based on the demand, if you are considering installing a solar farm primarily for self use on a factory or commercial building it would be very prudent to invest in having a load profile done to establish exactly your peak demand periods and what system best suits you needs. The idea is to be sure the Solar power system needs to operate under the load demand so as not to waste the energy produced by your solar farm, in most cases this excess energy is put back to the grid with little return or no return at all. In most cases we will design a solar power plant that has zero to the grid with minimal clipping of energy produced.
The design of a solar farm will vary from situation to the location and the actual desired outcomes.
List of things to be done prior to a design submission:
- Review current energy charges and peak demand pricing. (available on request)
- Load profiling of the facility if for self consumption (we provide this service on request)
- Site review to establish optimal location for the installation, site needs review and the electrical connection points considered.
- System designed with expected yield performances calculated.
- Charts and graphs produced to represent potential energy production, these charts or graphs will be over laid with existing load profiles to show potential offset and reduction in peak demand periods.
- 3D images produced on location.
- Process and solar quotes produced and submitted for review.
- If the prospect looks solid an application to the energy provider in your area needs to be made, this application will be reviewed, once reviewed the energy provider will advise of their requirements to allow the connection to the grid.
- Solar Price reviewed based on the submission reply from the energy provider.
While this seems a little daunting we assure you we are ready to assist and have a very capable solar team of installers and designers who will work with your group and assist with all components of the proposed project.
